On your own around the
Vuoksi chain and lakes
From
Kuopio to Savonlinna and back
The
lake Saimaa and the whole Vuoksi chain of lakes offer unquestionably the
most interesting entireness of lakes in Europe. There is enough to
explore for weeks, even for years, in the labyrinthine open water and
passage ways of this area. If you want to get a picture of the shores
waiting to be explored, just imagine the shores of lake Saimaa as one
continuos strip on the equator, the segment would go one thirds around
the globe! When you add to this the amazing nature formed by the ice–age,
history and culture, you definitely have got quite perfect circumstances
for a great canoe vacation.
Based on our own experience and the tips
we have received from the paddlers, we have planned a few interesting
trip alternatives for the paddlers who like to go out to the waters on
their own and have previous experience with the kayak paddling. Of
course one can paddle along with the Indian canoe too, but in that case
it is wise to be prepared to spend more time on the waters, since the
winds can cause changes in the course throughout the trip.
The
canoe trip can be started anywhere indeed. We will transport your
preferred means of the equipment to any previously agreed spot, and on
an agreed time also, from either our Kuopio or Kangasniemi locations.
The return of the trip can also happen as previously planned, or a
couple of days earlier if you wish, just give us a call and tell where
about you wish to end your trip.
If the rental time is at least a week
long, we will charge only the standard euros per kilometer price, which
is 0,45 euros per kilometer, regardless of the number of the kayaks or
canoes you have rented out.
Our trip alternatives have been planned
so that it is easy to make changes to them too. Even the camping
sites are only recommendations, since you can put up your tent in any
place you wish, and whenever you wish to do so. We also gladly answer
for any additional questions you might have, and of course reserve
beforehand any services you may need.
Welcome to the Lakeland!
