Kangasniemi
The Puula Canoeing Centre is situated in the commune of Kangasniemi in the northern reaches of Lake Puulavesi. Wherever you come from, whatever you use to get here, we are easily accessible. Should you start out from Helsinki or its vicinity, drive first to Lahti, then to Heinola, after which you turn north in the direction of Jyväskylä. When you get to Joutsa, turn right when you get to the signpost Kangasniemi 45. The distance from Helsinki is 250 kms in all. Should you be coming from some other direction, you will need to know no more than the fact that Kangasniemi lies on Road No.13, running from Jyväskylä to Mikkeli. Mikkeli is 50 kms away, and Jyväskylä 65 kms. The bus will get you thereThere are 3-4 buses a day from Helsinki to Kangasniemi, with connections directly from the airport for two of them. The trip takes some 4 hours. Likewise, there are several buses a day from Jyväskylä and Mikkeli. You will find the bus timetables on the net at www.matkahuolto.fi ...and so will the aeroplane There are tens of Asia-bound flights a day, all flying over Kangasniemi, but since we have no airport, they don't stop here.
